Omega – A Comfortable & Smooth Sailing Partner
OMEGA- A 29-foot C&C Sloop
An Interesting story about C & C. Two men started the company and had a heck of a time deciding on a name for the company. Finally, they settled on C & C because their last names started with the letter ‘C.’ Problem solved.
Omega was a pure delight to sail. She was the best sailing boat I ever owned. When I bought her, she was in pretty good condition but needed cosmetic work, and that was something I had gotten to be handy at doing over my sailing years.
Omega was even fun to ride on when someone else was at the helm. Yes, I did give up the helm from time to time.
She was a fine-looking and nice sailing boat. I added this feature so that other sailors would know what make she was and how old she was. A little bit vain, but I was proud of that gal.
I hired Joel, our club rigger, to make some improvements that I had no intention of handling myself—primarily installing lazy jacks so I could just let the mainsail drop into place without having to do much work.
Omega under sail during sea trial – ‘test drive.’
A sailor’s work is a labour of love.
