Adventure Tales of Sailing in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico
Stories of a Passionate Sailor’s Escapades
To discover where you belong, you must embark on adventures. After all, the point of life is to live it wholeheartedly, savor every second, and reach out enthusiastically and fearlessly for more incredible and more profound experiences.
I root for all kinds of experiences and adventures in my life, but the ocean has completely changed my life and perspective. So, here, I am telling you my sailing stories.
Journey So Far
I have been sailing for over 22 years now. I have learned a great deal about the sea, trips, and surroundings with the years I spent on the ocean.
I have explored many unfathomed places. I am greatly inspired by nature, and I follow my stars during my sailing.
inspiration
It was the summer of 1961. I was walking out on the main dock of a marina near East Tawas, Michigan, admiring boats, when a sleek sailboat appeared out of nowhere. The white sails were full and she slid silently toward the dock. Two crew members climbed out of the cockpit and moved forward on the deck. Simultaneously, the two sails were dropped, and the crew aptly folded them neatly and secured them as the boat drifted toward the dock. As the boat was running out of speed and neared the dock, the skipper made a steering adjustment that brought the boat parallel with the dock and only two feet away. The two crewmates stepped on the dock and secured dock lines on the big metal horn-shaped cleats, one forward and one aft. Splendid!! I thought to myself, Someday, I am going to give that a try.
